KETA is the district capital of the Keta district, Ghana
 
The Volta Region with its Capital, Ho, lies to the east of Ghana, sharing borders with Togo. It is named after the Volta River. Known as the region of contrasts, the Volta Region has the lowest point in Ghana - the Keta Lagoon basin - lying below sea level - and the highest point - Mountain Afadjato, 2905 ft above sea level. The Region extends from the Atlantic Coast to the fringes of the Savanna grassland northwards.

The Volta Region -

 

Bordering on Togo, is from scenic beauty. Rolling hills, valleys, rocky outcrops overlooking Lake Volta. You find lagoons, rivers and waterfalls..

The Volta Region egion stretches from the Atlantic coast right up to the up to Northern Ghana.

Mt. Afadjato at 885m is the highest point in Ghana.

 

This region is dominated by the river Volta and Lake Volta. Visit the Wli Waterfalls near Hohoe, the highest in Ghana! Nearby you find the Tsatsadu Falls at Alavanyo. And the Tagbo Falls at Liate Wote. Other points of interest are; Afadjato Mountain and the Kalakpa Game Production Reserve

Volta Region is famous for its festivals; Hogbetsoto of the Anlos people in November

The beaches of the Volta estuary are amongst the best in Ghana, although the sea is generally rough along the Atlantic coast.

Die Volra Region -

 

Die Region grenzt an Togo und ist von aussergewohnlicher Schoenheit. Sanfte Huegel, Taeler und Felsformationen uebrblicken den Voltasee. Sie finden Lagunen , Fluesse und Wasserfaelle. Die VoltaRegion streckt sich von der Atlantikkueste bis nach Nord- Ghana.

 

Der Berg Afadjato ist mit 885m der hoechste Punkt in Ghana.

Die Region wird dominiert vom Volta Fluss und dem Volta See.

 

Besuchen Sie den Wli Wasserfall in der naehe von Hohoe. Es ist der hoechste Wasserfall in Ghana.

Nahebei finden Sie den Tsatsadu Wasserfall sowie die Tagbo Wasserfaellein Liate Wote.

Andere interessante Ziele sind der Afadjato Mountain und das Kalapa Naturschutzgebiet.

Die Volta Region ist beruehmt fuer die Festivals ; z.B. das Hogbetsoto Festival im November.

 

Die Straende in der Region zaehlen zu den Besten in Ghana. Das Meer ist im allgemeinen jedoch recht Rau.
